Frequently asked questions

General

What is a Control Point?

A Control Point is a unique 8-digit ID assigned to each loading and unloading point in SupplyOn. To release a shipment to a Bosch plant, the Ship-from and Ship-to Control Points must be connected in the system. Bosch TMC manages the technical setup. SupplyOn generates the main Control Point during registration. Maintenance of Control Points in SupplyOn is the responsibility of the SupplyOn administrator in the supplier company.

What is a Sister Control Point, and who creates it?

A Sister Control Point is created when a supplier company has an additional loading point. The creation of Sister Control Points is managed by the SupplyOn administrator within the supplier's company.

Where can I find the Control Point?

All Control Points are available to the SupplyOn administrator of the supplier company. To find them, navigate to Administration > Company > click the warehouse icon in the CPs column. The available Control Points are listed there.

Who can see the Control Points in SupplyOn?

Regular users can view the Bosch plant's Control Point, which indicates the Bosch plant they have access to. This information helps determine for which plant they can create a Forwarder Pick-up Advice (FPA). The supplier company's Control Points are only visible to the SupplyOn administrator within the supplier's organization.

How do I create a new Control Point?

The SupplyOn administrator can create additional Control Points. Log in to SupplyOn and navigate to Administration > Logistics Settings. Next, click the house icon in the CPs column next to the subordinate entry (identified by the small cube icon in the Type column). Click Create New Control Point on the right-hand side. Enter all required information in the mandatory fields, then click Save at the top or bottom of the page to create the new Control Point.

What should I do if the Control Point ID does not match?

If the Control Point does not match, your SupplyOn administrator should take screenshots of all relevant existing Control Points, clearly describe the issue, and send this information by email to Bosch TMC for assistance.

Where can I find information about NGTM processes?

For questions related to NGTM, first review the relevant articles in the InfoPortal. If you still need assistance, contact Bosch TMC.

How can I search in SupplyOn?

Use the standard search or advanced search in SupplyOn. You can also filter directly in the columns that support filtering by opening the column drop-down and entering your search term.

How can I find all existing Forwarder Pickup Advice (FPA) numbers for one material or demand?

Go to the Forwarder Pickup Advice Overview, click FPA Positions, and search for the relevant demand or material by entering its number in the Quick Search field.

I am a Classic EDI supplier. Do I create both the FPA and the ASN in SupplyOn?

No. As a Classic EDI supplier, you create the FPA in SupplyOn, but you continue to create and transmit the ASN from your own ERP system.

What is GTL?

GTL stands for Global Transport Label and is defined in VDA 4994.

What is ASN?

ASN stands for Advanced Shipping Notice (DESADV).

What is the difference between the ASN number and the delivery note number in SupplyOn?

The ASN number is a reference number generated by SupplyOn. A single ASN can contain multiple delivery notes.

What is AGR?

AGR stands for Automated Goods Receiving.

How can I set up a new Bosch plant to receive Delivery Instructions and send ASNs for deliveries that have already started or will start in the future?

The Bosch customer team is responsible for setting up the plant code for the relevant vendor number. Please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant or your Bosch plant contact for assistance.

Can the same company be registered more than once in SupplyOn?

No. A company or legal entity (for example, with the same address, VAT number, or DUNS number) should only be registered once in SupplyOn. If additional users require access, the company's SupplyOn administrator should create additional user accounts under the existing company registration.

How can I find my SupplyOn account administrator?

Go to Administration > My User Administrators to find your SupplyOn account administrator.

FPA

What should I do if a Demand is missing after my supplier-plant connection goes live?

If your supplier-plant connection is live but the Demand is still not displayed:

  1. Clear any search filters on the Demand Selection page and refresh the list.
  2. If the Demand is still not displayed, please contact Bosch TMC.
  3. If required, you can create an FPA without a Demand using the "FPA without Due Delivery" backup process.

When can I use the "FPA without Due Delivery" backup process, and how do I access it in SupplyOn?

Use the "FPA without Due Delivery" backup process when no Due Deliveries are available because the connection between SupplyOn and the Bosch plant SAP system is not active.

To access the backup process:

  1. Click Create FPA on the Due Delivery page.
  2. In the pop-up window, select the Bosch plant you want to ship to.
  3. Continue creating the FPA without a Due Delivery.

Note: If the Pick-up / Unload Location is not displayed in the pop-up window, this may indicate a technical configuration issue. In this case, please contact Bosch TMC instead of using the backup process.

What should I do if the complete Bosch plant line is not visible during FPA creation, even though I have an EDI connection?

If your supplier-plant connection is live but the complete Bosch plant line is not displayed:

  1. Clear any search filters on the Due Delivery page and refresh the list.
  2. If the Bosch plant line is still not displayed, verify that your user is assigned to the correct Control Point. Your company's SupplyOn administrator can check this.
  3. If the issue persists, please contact Bosch TMC.
  4. While the issue is being resolved, you can use the "FPA without Due Delivery" backup process if no Due Deliveries are available.

What should I do if my Ship-from Location is missing on the Complete FPA tab?

If your Ship-from Location is not displayed on the Complete FPA tab:

  1. Contact your company's SupplyOn administrator first.
  2. Ask them to verify that the Ship-from Location is configured in SupplyOn and that your user is authorized to use it.
  3. If the location should be available but is still not displayed, please contact Bosch TMC.

Note: If the customer has not specified a pickup address, SupplyOn automatically uses the address from your supplier master data.

What should I do if the suggested pickup date is incorrect?

The suggested pickup date should normally correspond to the approved transportation schedule and transit time for your supplier-plant connection.

If the suggested pickup date appears to be incorrect:

  1. Verify that the configured transit time matches the approved route setup.
  2. If the transit time is correct but the suggested pickup date is still incorrect, please contact Bosch TMC.

What should I do if the automatic packaging information is missing?

You can identify this issue in SupplyOn by clicking Calculate Packaging. If the Handling Unit information on the Complete FPA tab is not automatically populated, the automatic packaging information may be missing.

In this case:

  1. Contact your Bosch contact responsible for Automated Goods Receipt (AGR) at the receiving plant and ask them to verify the packaging master data in SAP.
  2. If the packaging master data has already been transferred to SupplyOn but the Handling Unit information is still not populated automatically, please contact Bosch TMC.

What should I do if a part number is missing from the available Demand list?

If you cannot find a specific part number in the Demand list:

  1. First, clear any search filters to make sure you are viewing all available Demands.
  2. If the part number is still missing, contact your Bosch plant contact to confirm that the Demand has been sent from SAP.
  3. If the Bosch plant confirms that the Demand was sent but it is still not available in SupplyOn, please contact Bosch TMC.

What should I do if my route is not available?

First, verify that your supplier–plant connection (route) has gone live.

If the route has already gone live but is still not available in SupplyOn, this is usually caused by a route configuration issue. Please contact Bosch TMC to have the configuration checked.

When is a Forwarder Pick-up Advice (FPA) due?

The deadline for creating a Forwarder Pick-up Advice (FPA) is defined by the customer.

The exact deadline for each shipment is displayed in the Due Date for Forwarder Pick-up Advice Creation column of the Due Deliveries schedule in SupplyOn. Always use this date as the reference when creating your FPA.

Typical deadlines are:

Road freight:

  • EMEA: One business day before the planned pickup date by 11:00 CET
  • North America: Customer-specific
  • Latin America: Customer-specific
  • APAC: Customer-specific

Intercontinental:

Full Container Load [FCL]

  • Container Pre-booking: at least 2–3 weeks before the container provisioning date
  • FPA: no later than the planned pickup date

Note: Always follow the deadline displayed in SupplyOn if it differs from the typical values above.

Why are no Due Deliveries displayed?

Due Deliveries may not be displayed for several reasons:

  • Clear any search filters to ensure all available Due Deliveries are shown.
  • Check whether the corresponding Demand is available in Supply Chain Collaboration.
  • The Bosch plant may need to resend the Demand from SAP.
  • For GB-specific processes, the purchase order may still require confirmation.
  • If cumulative quantities are too high, older Due Deliveries may no longer be displayed.

If the issue persists after completing these checks, please contact Bosch TMC.

How can I remove Demands that have already been fulfilled from the Due Delivery list?

You do not manually delete Demands. Instead, update the Supplier cumulative quantity for the material.

To do this:

  1. Go to Supply Chain Collaboration → Demand – Delivery Instructions.
  2. Use Quick Search to find the relevant Bosch material number.
  3. Open the corresponding Delivery Instruction.
  4. Enter the current cumulative quantity in the Supplier field.
  5. Save your changes.

SupplyOn will automatically remove the fulfilled Demands from the Due Delivery list and display the next Due Deliveries.

Can I combine multiple Due Deliveries into one FPA?

Yes, if they have the same transportation characteristics.

The following values must be identical:

  • Transport mode
  • Incoterm
  • Customer plant
  • Currency
  • Pickup date
  • Delivery date

If any of these values differ, the Due Deliveries must be processed separately.

Can I delete or cancel an FPA?

Yes. You can delete or cancel an FPA from the FPA Overview by selecting the relevant FPA and using the action buttons at the bottom of the page.

This is only possible before a carrier has been assigned by Bosch TMC.

If a carrier has already been assigned and the FPA can no longer be deleted or cancelled, please contact Bosch TMC.

Delete FPA – Available only for FPAs with the status Pending or Locked (if the FPA has not yet been sent).

Cancel FPA – Available only for FPAs with the status Sent.

How can i modify an FPA?

The way you modify an FPA depends on your connection type:

  • WebEDI suppliers (ASN created in SupplyOn): If your ASN is created based on the FPA, the FPA is updated automatically when you submit the ASN.
  • Classic EDI suppliers (ASN sent from your own ERP system) and suppliers without an EDI connection: You can modify an FPA by using the Reopen FPA function, provided the FPA is still in Draft status and has not yet been sent.

How can I split a delivery into partial deliveries?

You can split a delivery by adjusting the delivery quantities during FPA or ASN creation.

On the Select FPA Positions or Select ASN Positions tab, enter the required quantities in the Proposed Quantity column.

For detailed step-by-step instructions, please refer to the FPA related Training Materials.

Can units of measurement be changed?

No. The unit of measurement is defined by the customer and cannot be changed in SupplyOn.

For example, if the customer uses inches, you cannot change them to millimeters, or vice versa.

How can I add an attachment after sending a Forwarder Pick-up Advice (FPA)?

The procedure depends on your EDI connection:

  • WebEDI suppliers (ASN created in SupplyOn): Upload the document during the ASN creation process. Create the ASN based on the FPA and upload the document on the Manage Documents tab.
  • Classic EDI suppliers (ASN sent from your own ERP system) and suppliers without an EDI connection: Use the Reopen FPA function to reopen the FPA, then upload the document on the Manage Documents tab.

How can I check which carrier has been assigned to my pickup?

Once Bosch TMC has assigned a carrier to your shipment, the carrier's name is displayed in the Carrier Name column of the FPA Overview.

If you need additional information, such as the vehicle's license plate number or the current shipment status, open the FPA and go to the Transport References tab.

Note: During the go-live process, you will receive a Go-Live Confirmation email containing your route details. This email also identifies the contracted carrier for your shipments.

Which labels and documents can I print from the Forwarder Pick-up Advice (FPA)?

The labels and documents you can print depend on your transportation process and the requirements of the receiving Bosch plant.

  • If the Bosch plant has specified a particular label, follow those requirements.
  • If no specific label has been requested, print the Transport Label.
  • If you participate in the Automated Goods Receipt (AGR) process using Global Transport Labels (GTL), print the required Handling Unit and Package labels.

Which transport label should I print from SupplyOn?

The label you should print depends on your transportation process and the requirements of the receiving Bosch plant.

  • If you are not participating in the Automated Goods Receipt (AGR) process, print the Transport Label.
  • If you are participating in the Automated Goods Receipt (AGR) process and use Global Transport Labels (GTL), print the required Handling Unit and Package labels.

If you are unsure which label type applies to your deliveries, please contact your Bosch plant contact or Bosch TMC.

ASN

Do I need to create an ASN, and what should I do if I have problems creating it?

For WebEDI suppliers, creating an ASN in SupplyOn is mandatory for applicable shipments.

If you have trouble creating or sending the ASN, first check the relevant training materials in the Learning Hub. If the issue persists, contact your Bosch plant and provide screenshots and a brief description of the problem.

Can I delete an ASN in SupplyOn?

Yes. If the ASN is still in Pending status, you can delete it directly in SupplyOn.

Once the ASN has been sent, it can no longer be deleted. In this case, contact your Bosch plant to request a withdrawal.

How do I delete or withdraw an ASN in SupplyOn?

The required action depends on the status of your ASN:

  • ASN is still Pending: You can delete the ASN yourself in SupplyOn. Go to Supply Chain Collaboration → ASN Overview, select the relevant ASN, and use the Delete ASN function.
  • ASN has already been Sent: You can no longer delete it yourself. Contact your Bosch plant contact and ask them to withdraw/delete the ASN. Once the Bosch plant has deleted the ASN, the related Demand becomes available again and can be used to create a new ASN.
  • Need to correct and resend the ASN? After the sent ASN has been deleted by the Bosch plant, open the deleted ASN in your ASN Overview, select Copy ASN, correct the required information, and send the new ASN.

When is the ASN due?

The ASN must be created after the FPA and sent before the shipment arrives at Bosch.

Ideally, send the ASN once the goods have been loaded and the final shipment details are confirmed, so no further changes are expected.

Why can't I create an ASN?

If Bosch Transport Management Center (TMC) manages transportation for your shipment, the ASN normally needs to be linked to a previously created Transportation Request (FPA). You must therefore create and send the FPA for the relevant Due Delivery before creating the ASN.

If no FPA exists, check whether your shipment qualifies for the Transport Management Bypass. This may apply, for example, to an ad hoc shipment where you organize transportation at your own expense. In this case, you can use the Bypass option to create the ASN without a preceding FPA.

If an FPA already exists but you still cannot create the ASN:

  • Make sure you selected the correct Due Delivery / FPA.
  • Check that you have the required SupplyOn permissions.
  • If the issue persists, contact Bosch TMC for support.

Do I need to create an ASN after the FPA, or is the FPA enough?

Yes, an ASN is required for every shipment to Bosch, regardless of your EDI type. The FPA and ASN serve different purposes: the FPA requests transportation, while the ASN provides the final shipment information.

If Bosch Transport Management Center (TMC) manages your transportation, the ASN is normally linked to the previously created FPA.

  • WebEDI suppliers: Create the FPA in SupplyOn, then create the ASN directly from the FPA.
  • Classic EDI suppliers: Create the FPA in SupplyOn, but create and send the ASN through your own ERP/EDI system.

Can I use the invoice number as the ASN number or delivery note number?

Yes. You can use the invoice number as the delivery note number.

What is DUNS number?

A DUNS number (Data Universal Numbering System) is a unique nine-digit identification number issued by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) to identify a company or business location.

What is ROHS?

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is a regulation that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Its purpose is to help protect human health and the environment.

What information do I need to enter when creating an ASN in SupplyOn?

In SupplyOn, all mandatory fields are highlighted in yellow. Complete all required information in the relevant tabs, including Select ASN Positions and Complete ASN.

Depending on your process and material, additional information, such as batch numbers or revision levels, may also be required before you can send the ASN.

How can I enable automatic ASN numbering in SupplyOn?

If you are a WebEDI supplier, SupplyOn can automatically assign ASN numbers. You need the ControlPointAdmin role to change this setting.

Go to Administration → Logistics Settings → select the Control Point name → Change Details. In the ASN numbering settings, enable automatic ASN numbering, enter the required starting number, and save your changes.

Once enabled, SupplyOn automatically pre-fills each new ASN with the next number in sequence, based on the starting number you defined.

Can I print shipping documents from an ASN in SupplyOn?

Yes. After creating an ASN in SupplyOn, you can print the available shipping documents, including:

  • Shipping Order
  • Delivery Note
  • Dispatch List
  • Transport Data Sheet

Why are the gross or net weights incorrect when I create an FPA or ASN with packaging data in SupplyOn?

When packaging is calculated in SupplyOn, the gross and net weights of Single Packs and Handling Units are calculated automatically based on the material and packaging weight data maintained by Bosch.

If the calculated weights appear incorrect, please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant or Bosch plant contact and ask them to verify the underlying master data.

Can I upload an ASN in SupplyOn instead of entering the data manually?

Yes. SupplyOn allows you to upload ASN data instead of entering all information manually. This can be especially useful for shipments containing multiple materials and can help reduce manual data entry.

Supported file formats include XML, CSV, and XLSX.

Why are the calculated quantities per box or pallet incorrect in the ASN?

When you use Calculate Packing in SupplyOn, the quantities per box and pallet are calculated automatically based on the packaging data maintained for the material.

If the calculated quantities appear incorrect, please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant and ask them to verify the underlying packaging master data.

User management

What should I do if I forgot my password?

Go to the SupplyOn login page, click Forgot password, and enter your user ID and email address. If prompted, answer your security question. You will then receive an email with a link to create a new password.

Note: The password reset link expires after 24 hours. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam or junk folder.

Why can't I use certain transportation-related features or functions in SupplyOn?

If you cannot access or use certain transportation-related features in SupplyOn, your assigned user roles may be missing or incomplete. Please contact your company's SupplyOn administrator and ask them to verify your assigned user roles.

For more information about the available user roles, please refer to:

How do I access SupplyOn?

Go to https://www.supplyon.com, click Log in, and enter your user ID and password.

Why is Supply Chain Collaboration not available in the navigation bar?

The Supply Chain Collaboration service may not be available because your NGTM implementation has not yet been completed, your assigned user roles are missing or incomplete, or your company profile has not been configured correctly by Bosch TMC.

First, ask your company's SupplyOn administrator to verify your assigned user roles. If the issue persists, please contact Bosch TMC.

Can I create personal views on the overview pages?

Yes. You can create and save personal views on overview pages to customize how information is displayed and make your daily work in SupplyOn more efficient.

Watch the video "Create Favorite Screen in SupplyOn"

Can I change my email notification settings?

Yes. You can manage most email notifications in SupplyOn.

Go to SupplyOn → Supply Chain Collaboration → Settings & Master Data → Email Notifications.

There, you can enable or disable notifications for individual business processes, such as Delivery Schedules, Kanban, or Orders.

Can I change the language in SupplyOn?

Yes. You can change the display language of the SupplyOn user interface at any time.

Go to Administration → My User Account → My Master Data, then select your preferred language in the Language field and save your changes.

You can also verify cumulative quantities by reviewing the individual Demand elements.

Can I download my Demands?

Yes. Demands can be downloaded in different file formats, including CSV, XML, and XLSX. You can also customize the download format to meet your company's requirements.

To download Demands, go to:

SupplyOn → Supply Chain Collaboration → Settings & Master Data → Upload, Download and Print

EDI

Can I receive Demands via Classic EDI and send ASNs via SupplyOn?

No. This combination is not supported. If you have questions about your EDI setup or process variant, please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant.

Where can I find the Bosch guidelines for GTL and ASN?

Your Bosch EDI Consultant will usually provide the relevant guidelines during project onboarding.

You can also find the latest versions in the InfoPortal under Additional Resources, or on the Bosch website under Logistics Regulations and Standards

Can I receive Delivery Instructions (DELFOR) via Classic EDI and also in parallel through SupplyOn?

No. To ensure stable and consistent EDI communication, Bosch does not support parallel transmission of the same EDI messages via Classic EDI and WebEDI (SupplyOn) for the same supplier–plant combination.

If you are unsure which setup applies to your company, please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant.

What data can I maintain to make ASN creation easier?

You can simplify ASN creation by maintaining key master data in SupplyOn, such as RoHS information, supplier material numbers, and your supplier DUNS number.

You can also save your preferred GTL label size at the material level and enable automatic delivery note numbering in the SupplyOn Network Link settings to reduce manual effort during ASN creation.

Label print

We already have prepared goods with old labels. How can we switch to GTL?

The transition to Global Transport Labels (GTL) should be coordinated based on your existing stock. Estimate when the remaining goods with the current labels will be shipped and coordinate the changeover with Bosch to ensure a smooth transition.

Do I still need to use the previous labels after switching to GTL?

No. After switching to Global Transport Labels (GTL), the GTL labels (according to VDA 4994) replace the previous VDA 4902 labels.

If your packaging already contains MAT labels, you may keep them inside the packaging.

Are label numbers in SupplyOn generated automatically?

It depends on your configuration. Label numbers in SupplyOn can either be generated automatically or entered manually, depending on your system settings and process configuration.

Which qualified dates are printed on GTLs?

For GTLs generated in SupplyOn, the qualified dates are automatically populated based on the information entered during ASN creation.

For Classic EDI, the required qualified dates must comply with the VDA 4994 specification. If you have questions about the required dates, please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant.

Why do I need to use both GTL S and GTL M/MIX labels??

Using both GTL S and GTL M/MIX labels clearly identifies both individual packages and shipping units. This supports efficient goods receipt, improves process automation, and enables end-to-end traceability throughout the supply chain, including production.

Do I need a special printer for GTLs?

No. Bosch does not require a special printer for printing Global Transport Labels (GTL).

A standard laser printer is sufficient, provided it meets the required paper and barcode quality standards. If you print self-adhesive labels from label rolls, a dedicated label printer may be required.

Can I print Global Transport Labels before creating the ASN?

Yes. Since 2024, suppliers can use the Pack2Stock module, which allows Global Transport Labels (GTL) to be printed before the ASN is created.

Please note that the Master label must still be printed at the time of shipment.

Can I change the format or dimensions of the labels printed from SupplyOn?

No. The format and dimensions of labels generated by SupplyOn cannot be changed by suppliers.

If you have a business requirement for a different label format, please contact your Bosch EDI Consultant.

Can I print Global Transport Labels (GTL) after sending the ASN?

Yes. You can print Global Transport Labels (GTL) after the ASN has reached the Sent status.

Please note that once the ASN has been sent, its contents can no longer be modified.

Can I change the paper size for Global Transport Labels (GTL) printed from SupplyOn?

Yes. SupplyOn supports several label formats, including A4, A5, A6, and KLT.

If you need a different label format, please contact your Bosch SupplyOn setup contact.

To always print labels on A5 paper, go to:

Administration → Logistics Settings → Control Point Name → Change Details

Then set Label DIN A5 Paper to Yes.
